After two decades in a career as a pharmacist, I embarked on a new journey by returning to university to pursue a degree in Dietetics. My passion lies in guiding individuals through lifestyle shifts that improve their well-being. I firmly believe that, in certain instances, lifestyle adjustments such as improved nutrition and regular exercise can lead to a greater influence on health and well-being than medication alone.
Recognising the hurdles that come with altering one’s lifestyle, I approach this process with a nurturing mindset, advocating for gradual, sustainable changes that bolster self-assurance while delivering lasting health benefits.
My interest in nutrition was sparked during training for and participating in ultra-endurance trail races, including a 100km event in the Blue Mountains. I have an extensive history of involvement in sports, ranging from amateur powerlifting competitions to attaining a single-digit golf handicap and competing at a national level in junior squash.
Originally growing up in North Queensland, I relocated to Brisbane for my university studies. My professional journey has taken me across diverse sectors in both Brisbane and the United Kingdom. In my spare time, I spend time with my young family, play golf, strength train at the gym, read books, and can be found taking photos of koalas in local bushland.
